Ben Schilaty holds three degrees from Brigham Young University (affectionately nicknamed his “three degrees of glory”). He works as a BYU honor code administrator and adjunct professor. Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, he learned the languages during his mission in Chihuahua, Mexico, and while living in Bolivia, Peru, and Portugal. He also earned a PhD in second-language acquisition and teaching from the University of Arizona. In his spare time, Ben is a co-host of the popular podcast, Questions from the Closet, which centers around answering questions commonly directed to gay members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A cacti lover, Ben says when hugging a cactus, "The trick is to make contact without applying pressure.”
